Peer Review Process

  • Double-Blind Peer Review: To ensure absolute objectivity and fairness, Emerging Papers employs a double-blind peer review system. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain concealed throughout the evaluation.
  • Minimum Reviewer Requirement: Every submitted manuscript is rigorously evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.
  • Review Outcomes: Based on reviewer feedback, the Editor decides whether to Accept, Request Revisions (Minor / Major) or Reject the manuscript.
02

Desk Reject & Preliminary Screening

Before manuscripts are assigned to peer reviewers, they undergo an initial editorial evaluation:

  • Formatting & Author Guidelines: Submissions that fail to adhere strictly to the journal's formatting, citation style, and structural guidelines will be 'desk rejected' without entering the peer review process.
  • Scope & Quality: Submissions outside the journal's scope or lacking basic academic structure will also be desk rejected.
03

Academic Integrity, Ethics & Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism & Misconduct: All submitted manuscripts undergo strict plagiarism screening (using specialized similarity software). Any submission exhibiting plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices will be immediately rejected.
  • Zero Tolerance: Emerging Papers maintains a zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty.
  • Unscientific Claims: Papers presenting pseudo-scientific, unverified or non-rigorous content will not be considered.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be the original work of the authors and must not be published or currently under consideration elsewhere.
04

Author Eligibility, Mentorship & Teacher Submissions

  • Target Authors: Submissions are primarily open to high school students (or recent graduates presenting work completed during high school).
  • Student-Focused Teacher Research: Educators and teachers conducting educational research, pedagogical studies, or academic work specifically focused on high school students or secondary education are eligible to submit as sole authors.
  • Co-authorship & Mentorship: Teachers, mentors, or academic supervisors may also appear as co-authors and/or advisors on student-led research papers, provided the student's contribution remains central to the project.
  • Parent / Guardian Consent: Authors under 18 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. After you submit, we email them a link to confirm, and your paper can only be published once they have.
05

Article Processing & Open Access

  • Open Access: All published papers are made freely available online to readers worldwide immediately upon publication.
  • Continuous Publication: Accepted articles are published continuously to ensure timely dissemination of scholarly research.
